# algolia indices copy

> Make a copy of an index.

```txt Usage theme={"system"}
algolia indices copy <source-index> <destination-index> [flags]
```

## Examples

Copy the records, settings, synonyms, and rules from the "SERIES" index to the "MOVIES" index:

```sh icon=square-terminal theme={"system"}
algolia indices copy SERIES MOVIES
```

Copy only the synonyms of the "SERIES" to the "MOVIES" index:

```sh icon=square-terminal theme={"system"}
algolia indices copy SERIES MOVIES --scope synonyms
```

Copy the synonyms and rules of the index "SERIES" to the "MOVIES" index:

```sh icon=square-terminal theme={"system"}
algolia indices copy SERIES MOVIES --scope synonyms,rules
```

## Flags

  Skip confirmation prompt

<ParamField body="-s, --scope">
  Scope to copy: settings, synonyms, rules, or all (default)
</ParamField>

  Wait for the operation to complete
</ParamField>

## Output formatting flags

<ParamField body="--allow-missing-template-keys">
  If true, ignore errors in templates due to missing fields or map keys. This only applies to golang and jsonpath output formats.

  Output format. One of: (json, jsonl, ndjson, jsonpath, jsonpath-as-json, jsonpath-file).

  Template string or path to a template file to use when --output=jsonpath, --output=jsonpath-file.
